Apperley Bridge Marina - JW Smartmeters

Apperley Bridge Marina is located between Leeds and Bingley on Leeds & Liverpool Canal and is part of the Waterfront Mews Development. The site is a full service Marina offering overnight, short term and long term moorings with Water and Electricity available at every berth.

For many years Steven at Apperley Bridge Marina has had AMPY Card Meters installed on all 44 bollards for the collection of electricity. Over the last few years we have had numerous calls from Steven regarding loss of revenue and endless problems getting the Electricity Cards to work. We exchanged the meters at the beginning of October 2020 for the Smart EMA Top Up Meter and Steven has seen drastic improvements since.

“It’s so simple to operate, with no more handling of £10.00 cards and having to deal with problems due to the age of the card meters. We can now see our energy usage on the portal, along with the revenue received, which is noticeably higher than the revenue we obtained when using the AMPY cards. I wish I had made this change sooner. I can foresee my energy charges being fully recovered. And it allows my department and I more time to work on other areas for the Development of the Marina.”
